Zooey Deschanel is a fashion risk-taker. Not in a Tilda Swinton fab-androgyny way or even a Bjork swan dress way, but she's got her own thing going on -- kind of a retro girl-next-door vibe that has earned her FOX show "New Girl" star the now-overused title "adorkable."
But on Sunday (Jan. 15) at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, Zooey just went way too retro and a little bit too far with hair that called to mind nothing so much as a mud-flap girl and -- it has to be said -- we're not convinced it's even her real hair. There's just something suspicious about those side curls and the lack of the part that scream "wig" or maybe "fall."
Zooey's dress, on the other hand, was stunning. A custom Prada black gown with lime-green beading on the torso. She would've been a total best-dressed candidate if it weren't for the mop top.
What do you think of Zooey's retro look?
